Adventure awaits... indoors & in your backyard! 🏕 We made 🥞 pancakes, read some stories by the “campfire,” & saw some wildlife critters. I’m hashtagging it the #greatamericancampin 😜 (thanks @upnorthtco for the idea!). I linked some of our favorite outdoor themed books in my stories. I also created a stories highlight called “Stay Home” to show you what we’re up to during the Stay at Home Order. 🏠

My little editing booth/office on wheels! 🤓Needed a change of scenery so I moved into the Lil Hotdish for part of the day. I’m parked in the driveway, but it feels like I could be anywhere when I’m in here. Kiwi kept sniffing the rattle reels wondering where the fish are lol. I even got “crafty” & made a portable sound booth out of a styrofoam cooler & mattress topper for the “studio.” Anyone need a voiceover? 😋Thanks @oliviaherrickdesign for the inspo with your Scamp camper office 😉. Who else is going to make use of their camper or fish house during the quarantine? Maybe convert it to a mini office, game room, or home school classroom temporarily? #stayathomeminnesota

Ended the hardwater season with a Boundary Waters laker. 😍🎣 How did you wrap up your ice fishing season?

Hiked out about four miles to get to our camping spot in the middle of the wilderness. One of the best parts about winter camping in the BWCA is that your whole campground is an angler’s paradise. 🎣 Winter Camping Tip 3️⃣: If you’re with a group of 6+, bring at least two or three hand augers. Saves time! And sharpen those blades because the ice is thicker than most places. I LOVE looking back at our adventure. Ignorance is bliss. We had no idea what was going on outside of the wilderness 🤷‍♀️. We knew we could potentially come home to a different world. But living in the moment, focusing on the people we’re with, being outdoors, & fishing for some BWCA lakers was exactly what we needed.

The real “Camp Quarantine.” 😉 ⛺️ Speaking of isolation, Winter Camping Tip 2️⃣: Rent a hot tent with a stove. It’s so cozy! You’ll need to dedicate part of your day to foraging for dead, dry wood & plenty of it! Pack an axe 🪓 & saw. We found lots of cedar in the BWCA which burns great & smells amazing.
