OUR NORTHWOODS THEMED BREWERY BABY SHOWER

To celebrate our first kiddo, we hosted a northwoods themed co-ed brewery baby shower and teamed up with amazing local companies to make it happen.

Oh baby! In about five weeks, we are expecting a new family member in our house. Baby Anderson is due this May! To celebrate our first kiddo, we hosted a northwoods themed co-ed brewery baby shower. That’s a mouthful! But it was perfect for our lifestyle and felt casual, yet so on-brand. We called it, “A Little Lumberjack is Brewing” and teamed up with some amazing women-owned companies in Minnesota for the party:

Venue: Urban Growler® Brewing Company
Decor: Legally Crafty Blog, Unforgettable Events
Cookies: Kendra’s Cookies
Photography: A Hendrickson Photography (all of the photos you see here!)

Also, a shout out to my co-worker and filmmaker friend, Josh for getting some b-roll so I can put this video together! Videography: Josh Hanesack

URBAN GROWLER BREWING COMPANY

I am lucky to have teamed up with Urban Growler® Brewing Company of St. Paul for our northwoods themed baby shower! The brewery is not only known for its fantastic house-made beer and taproom, but also for the amazing food and rental space. Plus, this is the first women-owned brewery in Minnesota! How cool?!

I first of heard of Urban Growler through word of mouth. Countless people kept recommending the brewery as not only a good place for beer (or house-made soda in my case), but also for the brew food. Check out their menu.

We had our party in the Barrel Room, complete with beer barrels, beautifully exposed brick and wood, and plenty of space for all 60 of us. It actually fits up to 150 people. It is the kind of atmosphere I had dreamed of for baby A’s shower and as you can see, an awesome place to host your next event too.

We brought our canoe as a fun place for people to store their gifts!

LEGALLY CRAFTY BLOG

I needed some major inspiration to get this northwoods themed brewery shower together. Holly from Legally Crafty was my girl! She’s a Minnesota-based DIY-er and party planning enthusiast. She showed us how to put together this party on a budget and loaned us a lot of the decor elements, including natural birch blocks, a campfire pillow, old school thermoses, the lanterns, wooden crates, and created the banner. Check out Holly’s blog and Instagram for other party planning ideas. She has a cost-effective solution for everything!

KENDRA’S COOKIES

Kendra of Kendra’s Cookies made these gorgeous cookies. These are the kind of cookies that are too pretty to eat, but every single one definitely got eaten.

Working with Kendra was so easy! She is based in St. Paul area and operates out of her home. Ordering is as simple as emailing Kendra, letting her know the date of your event, what design and color scheme you’re looking for, include any sayings or dates, she’ll send you some sketches and you’ll pickup the cookies the weekend before the due date.

You can checkout her cookie making process on her Instagram: @kendrascookiesmn

I loved these beer cookies! So cute!
Here’s a fun idea from Holly! A trail mix bar for guests to enjoy and take home.
I’m all about the chocolate.
A fun way to store gifts!

UNFORGETTABLE EVENTS

Have you ever heard of a “Party in a Box?” Cue Mara of Unforgettable Events. She provides inspiration, event planning and services — including Party in a Box. Her party boxes are packed with decor, games, custom printables, etc. My box came with this buffalo plaid photo booth, wooden platters and galvanized steel charger plates and containers. The photo booth was a game-changer. I loved being able to provide a fun photo option for our friends and family. Check out some of the shots below!

Shout out and thanks to my bff Karsyn for leading the party planning efforts! Love her!
The Andersons! Haha, I loved this moment where my niece is about to run off. Thank you to my MIL and FIL for helping with the setup and takedown at the party!
My side of the fam! Big thanks to my mom and aunts for helping with the behind-the-scene efforts!
My dad makes wood art: 10,000 Woodworks and he takes custom orders!
We did a couple of giveaways with his art.
Party favors for our guests, to go with our theme and of course, our love for camping and campfires.
Thank you to Amelia for co-leading the baby shower efforts!
Wildflower Honey Cream Soda from Urban Growler
My dad made this as a gift for us. A keepsake for years to come.

I hope our baby shower gave you some ideas and inspirations for your next party.

A final thank you to Anne of A Hendrickson Photography for capturing all of these moments. I realized that I wouldn’t be able to photograph the event while also celebrating baby A and mingling with our friends and family. Anne made the party so enjoyable and made sure to do our brewery shower justice (along with Josh who did video and 2nd shooter duty)! Be sure to check her out for your next event!

Thank you to our friends and family for celebrating with us!

Xoxo,
