I’m a little on the late side of posting this video on the blog, but better late than never! If you follow along on YouTube, you probably already saw this. Lake of the Woods did not disappoint. I can honestly say this place is worthy of being called “Walleye Capital of the World.” I experienced some of the best walleye ice fishing and just in general fishing ever. This was actually my first time catching sauger too!
Even as of March 18, I hear from fishing reports that the bite is going strong. Although ice fishing season is over for the majority of lakes, it still continues on LOTW through April 14 (as long as the ice persists). Walleye and sauger combined limit is six, with no more than four walleye. Any walleye and sauger between 19.5 and 28 inches must be released right away. Only one walleye over 28 inches can be kept. Happy fishing!
